About Me, Josh Rowe

My name is Josh Rowe, and I’m a photographer, videographer, and outdoor enthusiast living in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Surrounded by forests, rivers, and rugged trails, this region constantly inspires me to get outside and create. Photography started as a simple hobby for me—just a way to slow down and notice the details—but over time, it’s become a core part of how I experience and share the world.
I shoot primarily with a Sony A6100 mirrorless camera. I love it for its balance of performance and portability—lightweight enough to carry on long hikes, fast autofocus for capturing candid moments, and sharp image quality that brings scenes to life. Whether I’m photographing morning landscapes, shooting video clips out on the trail, or experimenting with different compositions, the A6100 has become an extension of how I see the world.
Outside of photography and video, I’m a big reader and love getting lost in stories, ideas, and learning. Books give me fresh perspectives that often influence the way I shoot or approach a project. And when I’m not reading or behind the camera, you’ll probably find me on a quiet path somewhere—hiking, exploring, or just soaking in nature’s calm.
This blog is my creative outlet—a place to document my process, share what I’m learning, and hopefully inspire others who are discovering their own passion for photography and the outdoors. Whether you’re just getting started or deep into your own creative journey, I hope you find something here that sparks curiosity or encourages you to keep exploring.
